From the 1980’s LIFE Inc. has rebuilt, modified, reconstructed and improved the integrity of many dams in NYC, Connecticut and the Hudson Valley. Small noticeable leaks, minor erosion, forestation (tree roots), are areas LIFE Inc.’s expertise are familiar with. We can assess the level that DEC, DEP, and EPA(NJ) requires of these structures.

All dams are inspected by a Governmental Agency (DEC, etc.) or their agent. Frequency and criteria vary with each dam and its location. Dams can be earthen, concrete, wooden or a combination of each. Failure can occur to any of these materials, but the level of destruction can be avoided by LIFE’s inspection and suggested remedial actions.
